Can you believe it, end of March and April right around the corner? What is it that as I get older time seems to go so much faster?
This means we do too. Finally, the new address and phone number is as follows:
100 W. First St., Mail Stop-400 Rm# 1060,
Los Angeles, Ca. 90012
Phone : 213-486-0190
As you know Baker to Vegas is coming up in April. If you want to go and haven’t made your reservations, don’t wait. The host hotels are the Las Vegas Hilton and the Riviera. Remember, the rooms go fast. You can go to the LAPRAAC website, click on Baker to Vegas and then Hotels. You can make your reservation from the website.
We will have a booth again this year with our bracelets available. We always appreciate the help as we bring our bracelets to the attention of the attendees and other agencies at the event. This is a big fund raiser for us.
We appreciate that LAPRAAC supports us at this event. This is also a time where we can enjoy each other and share. It’s also called Vegas and let’s have some fun. Don’t we deserve it.
The LAPD Memorial will be held on May 5th this year at the new Police Administration Building. As we are made aware of further details I will pass them along. At this time, we have not been made aware of all the details and how the FSG will be assisting.
We will not be attending Sacramento or Washington D.C. this year, fortunately, we have not had a line of duty death for 2009. Some of the other events this year are the LAPD Memorial, Memorial Run, Celebrity Golf Tournament, LAPD FSG Golf Tournament, Father Mike’s Peace Officer Retreat, LAPD FSG Memorial, Jack Webb Awards, Blessing of the Badges, LAPD Women’s conference, and I’m sure I’ve forgot a few.
Please remember that LAPD FSG Meetings are held on the last Tuesday of each month. For March it will be held on Tuesday the 30th on the 1st floor vs the 3rd floor where we normally hold it. You will also find our meeting dates in the Blue Line. Remember the LAPPL always provide a scrumptous dinner for us. Bless them for that.
I would like to bring to your attention that Randy Simmons was honored by the renaming of West Valley Park to LAPD SWAT Officer Randal D. Simmons Park. What an honor for Lisa and the family. For a man who was so involved with children this is a great way to memorialize him.
