The loss of a family member or friend may be overwhelming, particularly when sudden and unexpected. Grief often impacts multiple domains of life manifesting itself in many ways. The following support groups offer counseling and assistance for those in need.
New Hope Our mission is to help grieving people find hope and healing. We are a 501(c)3 Tax Exempt Organization.
In 1986 Susan was a nurse on the cancer-leukemia ward at Long Beach Veterans Hospital. Each time her precious patients died, Susan was exposed to grief and loss as she witnessed the families in despair. At the time resources for her grieving families were minimal in Long Beach. Our Lady Queen of Angles Catholic Church
OLQA sponsors a Grief Support Group for those who have lost a loved one, to help them work through their grief. Th no-fee Bereavement Counseling Group provides understanding and fellowship, to discover a new hope and strength. We meet for a number of sessions in the Conference Room of the Parish Center at scheduled times in the year.
